Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Monday announced that he had reconciled with his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.
Gatekeepers News reports that the announcement came shortly after he had a closed-door meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Speaking with journalists after the session, the Governor explained that his visit was to thank the President and formally inform him of his resumption of office.
He said, “The suspension was lifted on September 17, and I resumed on September 19. It was only right to come and notify Mr. President and also seek his fatherly guidance on governance to avoid crisis.”
On his relationship with Wike, he stated, “I don’t know what you mean by ‘paper peace.’ What I can tell you is that we have made peace. Fubara and his principal are now working together.”
