Arise TV on Tuesday, gave more information regarding the death of Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu, its anchor and producer who lost her life in an armed robbery at her Abuja residence.

The incident occurred at about 3 a.m. on Monday when around 15 armed men stormed Unique Apartments, a four-storey building with 16 flats in the Katampe district.
Security staff at the compound reportedly alerted the police while the robbery was underway, but no response came. One guard sustained injuries in the incident.
Both the guard and Maduagwu, popularly known as Sommie, were taken to Maitama District Hospital, where they died.
During The Morning Show, presenter Ojinika Okpe revealed that Maduagwu had jumped from her apartment in a bid to escape.
Okpe said, “I reached out to our correspondent in Abuja, who detailed the circumstances surrounding her death. She jumped down from her home when she heard about 14 armed robbers came to her home. She did not die on the spot. She went to the hospital, and she was rejected. Her life could have been saved, but the hospital rejected her.”
Reuben Abati, former presidential spokesperson and co-anchor at Arise TV, called for a full investigation, urging authorities to examine the role of Maitama District Hospital staff as well as the broader security lapses that led to the tragedy.
