Fulham Football Club on Wednesday, threw a special celebration for its Nigerian players and staff at its Motspur Park training ground in London to mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day.
Gatekeepers News reports that to honour the occasion, the club invited the Nigerian cohort within its ranks to a gathering filled with food, music, camaraderie, and reflection.
The event featured Fulham’s three Nigerian internationals: Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, and Samuel Chukwueze who joined teammates and staff in the festivity.
Photos captured the trio mingling, posing for pictures, and enjoying traditional Nigerian elements woven into the celebration.
According to club sources, the party was organised to acknowledge the contributions of its Nigerian contingent and to allow them to reflect on Nigeria’s identity within the global football community.
