Estevão’s Late Goal Seals Chelsea Win – Hands Liverpool Third Straight Defeat

Chelsea’s Estevão scored a last-minute winner to hand Liverpool a third consecutive defeat, as the Blues secured a thrilling 2–1 victory at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Gatekeepers News reports that the defeat ended a terrible week for Arne Slot’s team, while Arsenal moved to the top of the Premier League with a 2–0 win over West Ham.

Liverpool, who had won their first seven matches of the season, have now stumbled in all competitions and enter the international break with growing concerns.

Chelsea, on the other hand, produced one of their best performances of the season to end a three-game winless run in the league.

Former Liverpool transfer target Moises Caicedo opened the scoring for Chelsea with a thunderous strike in the 14th minute. Liverpool eventually equalised after the break, when Alexander Isak set up Cody Gakpo for a close-range finish.

Just as the game seemed headed for a draw, Estevão slid in at the far post to convert Marc Cucurella’s cross deep into stoppage time. Manager Enzo Maresca also received a red card for his passionate pitch-side reaction.

The result leaves Liverpool one point behind Arsenal, while Chelsea climb to sixth place in the table.

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta’s 300th match in charge saw Arsenal outclass struggling West Ham. Goals from Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka sealed a comfortable win, keeping the Gunners’ title hopes alive.

Rice, facing his former club, smashed home the opener before Saka doubled the lead from the penalty spot after Jurrien Timber was fouled.

Elsewhere, Manchester United eased pressure on manager Ruben Amorim with a 2–0 victory over Sunderland at Old Trafford. Mason Mount and Benjamin Šeško were on target, while Tottenham continued their impressive form under Thomas Frank, defeating Leeds 2–1 at Elland Road thanks to Mohammed Kudus’ decisive goal.
