GWR: Dee One Completes Longest Stand-Up Comedy Marathon

Nigerian comedian and reality TV star, Dee One, has completed his attempt to set a new Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest stand-up comedy performance.

Gatekeepers News reports that the marathon, which kicked off on October 2 at Pallazzo Lagos, Opebi, Ikeja, ended on Saturday after 52 hours and 42 minutes of non-stop comedy.

A video on his Instagram page captured the emotional moment when the crowd erupted in cheers as he wrapped up the performance, surpassing the existing record.

The current record is held by American comedian Benny Elbows, who performed for 40 hours, 16 minutes, and 48 seconds in April 2025. Dee One’s feat also follows a recent 50-hour attempt by fellow Nigerian comedian Laff Ijuo.

Speaking about his motivation, Dee One said the challenge was his way of testing the limits of possibility. He described comedy as a powerful tool for healing and connection, adding that his goal was to inspire others to believe that no stage is too big and no dream too high.
