Team Brazil achieved its maiden win in the E1 Lagos Grand Prix on Sunday, delivering a strong performance in the historic African edition of the all-electric powerboat championship.
Gatekeepers News reports that the team dominated from the group stages to the final, maintaining consistent speed and precision on the Lagos waters to secure a well-deserved victory.
Their triumph earned them 38 points, raising their overall championship total to 89 points.
Team Blue Rising finished second, while Team Drogba took third place. Leading contenders Team Rafa and Team Brady, however, failed to make the podium this time around.
The E1 Lagos Grand Prix, known for blending innovation with environmental consciousness, marked a milestone as Lagos became the first African city to host the global championship. The event took place on October 5 and 6 in the Victoria Island area.
Speaking at the grand finale, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu praised the competition as a celebration of progress and sustainability.
He said, “Hosting the E1 Grand Prix is not just about sport. It is about innovation, environmental responsibility, and putting Lagos on the global map for future-focused development”, , highlighting the state’s dedication to creativity, resilience, and clean energy initiatives.
