Super Eagles To Battle Gabon In 2026 World Cup Playoff Semifinal

Nigeria’s Super Eagles are scheduled to face Gabon in the semi-finals of CAF playoffs for the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Thursday, November 13, 2025, in Morocco.

Gatekeepers News reports that Gabon had secured second place in Group F with 25 points, while the Nigerian team had earned its playoff ticket following a dominant 4–0 victory over Benin in Uyo on Tuesday.

A win for Nigeria would set up a potential final encounter against either Cameroon or the Democratic Republic of Congo on Sunday, November 16, also in Morocco.

The winner of that match will advance to the intercontinental playoffs, scheduled for March 2026 in Mexico, where six teams from five confederations will compete for the final two World Cup spots.

The intercontinental round will feature teams from Asia, Africa, South America, and Oceania, along with two representatives from CONCACAF.

The four lowest-ranked teams will face off in single-elimination ties, with the winners advancing to meet the top two teams in the final playoff stage to determine who qualifies for the World Cup.
