Edo State Chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has warned Dr. Tony Aziegbemi to stop parading himself as the party’s chairman in the state.

Gatekeepers News reports that in a statement on Thursday, the party’s Publicity Secretary, Bob-Manuel Umoru, said Aziegbemi lost his legitimacy following the state congress held on October 5, 2025, which produced Barr. Nosa Ogieve-Okunbor as the duly elected chairman of the party.

Umoru said that Aziegbemi’s tenure was marked by “failures, internal crises, and electoral losses,” accusing him of leaving the party “in disarray and political decline.”

He further alleged that Aziegbemi had defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) alongside a group of political opportunists, adding that such a move stripped him of any moral or legal right to act on behalf of the PDP.

The party warned, “Dr. Aziegbemi must immediately desist from parading himself as chairman of the PDP in Edo State or face the full weight of the law.”

Edo PDP also cautioned the public, political stakeholders, and institutions against engaging or transacting with Aziegbemi in the name of the PDP, warning that such dealings would be null and void.

Umoru reaffirmed that the party in Edo State is now under the leadership of Barr. Ogieve-Okunbor and vowed that no act of impersonation would derail efforts to rebuild and strengthen the party.
