Ondo State Police Command has apprehended Yewole Adamolekun, accused of repeatedly defiling his 15-year-old biological daughter over a period of 12 years.
Gatekeepers News reports that according to the Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, the crime occurred in Taye Village, Lafa 2, Ajue Axis, under the Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.
Ayanlade revealed that upon receiving the report, divisional police officers swiftly apprehended the suspect, while the survivor was taken to a hospital for medical evaluation. An ultrasound test later confirmed that she was 19 weeks and two days pregnant.
According to him, the suspect admitted to the offence during questioning and remains in police custody. The matter has since been transferred to the Command’s Gender Desk Unit for thorough investigation and prompt prosecution.
Commenting on the disturbing incident, the Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, CP Adebowale Lawal, psc+, mnips, denounced the act, labelling it both a grave crime and a moral abomination.
