PDP Dismisses Anyanwu’s Signature Forgery Claim

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed allegations by the party’s National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, that his signature was forged on official correspondence sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Gatekeepers Newreports that speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Monday, the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, insisted that Senator Anyanwu personally signed the letters notifying INEC of the date, time, and venue for the party’s forthcoming elective convention scheduled for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.

“The National Secretary signed those letters,” Ologunagba stated firmly, describing the forgery claim as unfounded.

To further buttress the party’s position, Ologunagba presented documented communications between Anyanwu and other members of the PDP leadership, as well as records of his participation in meetings of the contact and mobilisation committee, where he serves as secretary.

Anyanwu had earlier petitioned the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Inspector General of Police, alleging that his signature was forged in the correspondence sent to INEC.
