Kano Hisbah Arrests 25 People Over Alleged Same-S*x WeddingLook

Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested 25 individuals accused of organising a same-s*x wedding in Hotoro area of the state.

Gatekeepers News reports that according to a statement released on Sunday, the board’s Deputy Commander, Mujahedeen Aminudeen, confirmed that the arrests were carried out on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Fatima Event Centre, located along the Hotoro bypass.

The statement reads, “Today, Saturday, 25th October 2025, we got a report that some people were allegedly organising a same-s*x marriage.”

“Our personnel stormed the Fatima Event Centre, the venue of the illegal gathering, and arrested 25 people — 18 males and seven females.”

Aminudeen disclosed that the suspects included the alleged groom and several guests who had travelled from areas such as Sheka, Yar Gaya, and Kofar Nasarawa to attend the event.

The deputy commander stressed that Hisbah would not condone actions considered contrary to the moral and religious standards of Kano State.

Aminudeen said, “We will not fold our arms and allow undesirable elements to tarnish the good image of our state.”

He also called on residents to assist the board by reporting activities perceived to undermine public morality, assuring that Hisbah will intensify efforts to curb such gatherings.

The deputy commander added, “The board will continue to identify and raid such places that promote immorality.”

The Kano Hisbah Board, which enforces moral codes under Islamic law (Sharia) in the state, has in the past carried out similar operations targeting events deemed to violate Islamic or cultural values.
