NRC Announces Resumption of Warri-Itakpe Train Service

Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced that train operations on the Warri-Itakpe route will resume on Wednesday, October 29, following a temporary suspension for maintenance and system upgrades.

Gatekeepers News reports that in a statement released on Saturday by its spokesperson, Callistus Unyimadu, the corporation disclosed that online ticket booking will reopen on Monday, October 27, at 12 noon.

NRC explained that the brief suspension was necessary to conduct essential maintenance, repair works, and safety checks on both the tracks and rolling stock to enhance passenger comfort and operational reliability.

The statement reads, “The online booking portal will be activated at 12 noon on Monday, October 27, 2025, via https://nrc-fane.ng.”

“Passengers are encouraged to secure their tickets early through the portal or at designated stations.”

The corporation further announced that operations will recommence with seven coaches, six standard class and one business class, while a revised train schedule, reflecting temporary speed restrictions for safety monitoring, will be published the same day.

NRC apologised for the inconvenience caused during the suspension period and expressed gratitude to passengers for their patience and cooperation.

Managing Director, Kayode Opeifa, assured travellers of the corporation’s continued dedication to providing safe, efficient, and dependable rail services as operations resume on the Warri-Itakpe corridor.
