Hon. Inna Galadimma has on Tuesday commended Vice President Kashim Shettima and Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum for their dedication to supporting women, describing their leadership as exemplary.
Gatekeepers News reports that Hon. Galadimma, who recently secured her party’s APC ticket to run for a second term as Chairmanship Candidate for Jere Local Government Council, said both leaders are true male allies needed across the country
Galadimma gave the commendation while speaking to reporters in Maiduguri, the Borno State Capital. She noted the impactful roles Shettima and Zulum have played in shaping Borno State’s political landscape, particularly within the APC.
The Jere Local Government Council Chairperson applauded Vice President Shettima for championing and empowering women since his days as Governor of Borno State. She also commended Governor Zulum for his support and backing of Borno women.
Hon. Galadimma emphasized Governor Zulum’s pivotal role towards the emergence of 27 women as APC councillorship candidates from Borno State’s 27 local government councils. “Our male allies in Borno State are the best in Nigeria and many African states,” Galadimma said.
She added, “It’s on this premise that we’re requesting some Vice Chairmanship seats be reserved for women across the 27 councils. This will encourage women, who are majority voters at the grassroots, to participate in governance.”

The Jere Council Chairperson expressed optimism about Shettima and Zulum’s support for women to emerge as Vice Chairpersons in some local government areas. She noted women’s capacity to deliver on assigned tasks, citing their accountability and efficiency at the grassroots level.
As Galadimma prepares to seek a second term in office, her acknowledgment of the Vice President and the Governor serves as a testament to their dedication to fostering strong leadership within the party.
