Truck – Bus Collision On Lagos Otedola Bridge Causes Gridlock

Less than a day after a multiple-truck collision Kara Bridge caused gridlock along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, another accident occurred on Friday morning at Otedola Bridge, inward Lagos Secretariat.

Gatekeepers News reports that Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), in a post shared on its official X handle, confirmed that the incident involved a 14-tyre tipper truck loaded with granite and an inter-state commercial Mazda bus.

According to the agency, the truck rammed into the road barrier after colliding with the bus, spilling granite across the expressway near Capital Oil, just before the Otedola Bridge section.

It said, “A 14-tyre tipper conveying granite had a collision with an inter-state commercial Mazda bus. The tipper ran into the barrier and spilled its contents on the road opposite Capital Oil, just before the expressway on Otedola Bridge inward Secretariat. There is no significant effect on traffic flow at the moment.”

Traffic officials said recovery operations were underway, noting that a tow truck had been deployed to the scene while personnel continued to direct traffic and maintain order.
