Gunmen Abduct Kebbi Deputy Speaker

Suspected bandits have kidnapped Muhammad Sama’ila-Bagudo, deputy speaker of Kebbi State House of Assembly, in Bagudo Local Government Area.

Gatekeepers News reports that according to Nafi’ Abubakar, spokesperson for the Kebbi State Police Command, the abduction took place around 8:20 p.m. on Friday while the lawmaker was returning home after observing the Isha’i prayer.

Abubakar said a joint security operation involving police tactical teams, the military, and local vigilantes has been launched to locate the abductors and rescue the legislator unharmed.

He said, “The joint team is currently combing the bandits’ routes and nearby forests with a view to rescuing the lawmaker unhurt and arresting the perpetrators of the dastardly act.”

Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, Bello Sani, assured residents that the command remains fully committed to protecting lives and property.

He also urged the public to remain alert and cooperate with security agencies to ensure peace and stability across the state.
