10 Players Arrive As Super Eagles Camp Opens For Gabon Play-Off Clash

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have opened camp in Rabat, Morocco, ahead of Thursday’s 2026 World Cup African play-off semi-final against Gabon, with 10 players already on ground as of Monday morning.

Gatekeepers Newreports that those in camp include Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi of Fulham, Samuel Chukwueze, Tolu Arokodare, and Olakunle Olusegun of Pari Nizhny Novgorod. Others are Wilfred Ndidi (Besiktas), Moses Simon (FC Paris), team captain William Troost-Ekong, rising defender Benjamin Fredericks, and Chidozie Awaziem (FC Nantes).

Coach Eric Chelle invited 24 players for the crucial fixture, coming weeks after Nigeria’s emphatic 4–0 victory over Benin Republic, which sealed their place in the play-offs.

The Super Eagles will face the Panthers of Gabon on Thursday, November 13, 2025, with both teams vying for a spot in the final play-off round. The winner will meet either Cameroon or DR Congo for Africa’s sole ticket to the intercontinental play-off scheduled for March 2026.
