Compliance Manager (SBO- DM)

Description:
The Compliance Manager is responsible for promoting and enforcing a strong compliance culture across their assigned cluster/region. This involves ensuring the bank adheres to all legal, regulatory, and internal policies, particularly concerning Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Financing of Terrorism (CFT), and Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures. The role is key in preventing regulatory penalties and financial losses due to non-compliance.
Key Responsibilities often include:
- Implementing and monitoring the bank’s compliance framework, policies, and procedures at the cluster level.
- Conducting mandatory and ad hoc reviews/audits to assess adherence to internal policies (e.g., Whistleblowing, Anti-Bribery) and regulatory requirements.
- Enforcing KYC/KYCB (Know Your Customer/Know Your Customer’s Business) standards for all branch transactions and account openings/closures.
- Tracking, reviewing, and ensuring the prompt renewal of all regulatory items, licenses, and permits for branches.
- Liaising with local regulators and representing the bank during audits or inspections.
- Providing periodic compliance training for staff in the respective clusters.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education: A good first degree (BA/BSc/HND) in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a compliance, audit, or banking operations role is typically required.
Internal Control Officer (ABO – BO)

Description:
The Internal Control Officer is responsible for implementing strategies that build a strong policy and control environment within the branch or regional operations. This officer acts as the first line of defense against fraud, errors, and policy breaches, ensuring all daily operations are executed accurately and in line with established guidelines.
Key Responsibilities often include:
- Performing daily independent call-overs of high-value and qualifying transactions within the branch/cluster.
- Conducting relevant internal control checks to ensure effective discharge of control functions.
- Performing spot checks, stock-taking, and monitoring of all e-banking related product reconciliation.
- Conducting first-level investigations on reported frauds and forgeries, including customer complaints.
- Continuously reviewing and evaluating branch activities/systems/processes to assess compliance and identify control lapses.
- Ensuring the prompt resolution of all open issues raised in Internal Audit, Management Letter, and Regulatory Examiner Reports.
- Monitoring and ensuring the integrity of the General Ledger (GL) accounts and financial entries.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: A minimum of a university degree (BA/BSc/HND), preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Banking.
- Experience: A minimum of 2-5 years of banking experience in operations, internal control, or audit is typically required.
- Certifications (Preferred): Progress towards or possession of professional certifications like ACA, ACCA, or CISA is a significant advantage.
- Skills: Analytical, strong attention to detail, policy and regulatory interpretation skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word), and an independent mindset.
