Ayodele Fayose, former Governor of Ekiti State, has announced that whenever he dies, his burial must take place no later than four weeks after his passing.

Gatekeepers News reports that he explained that he has already outlined specific instructions about how his remains should be handled, stressing that the responsibility should rest entirely with the Ekiti State Government rather than his family.

In a video circulating widely on Saturday, Fayose said, “Remember me for anything. And when I die, let me say this. Death is inevitable. My body belongs to the Ekiti State government… I’m delivering a letter to the Governor. Let us say in another 20, 30 years, 15 years, whatever time, for the glory of God. “

“The Ekiti state government takes over my body, and I must be buried within four weeks. Because the state might not be ready within two, three days, we allow them four weeks.”

He further noted that his children would be expected to dress in their own chosen Aso-Ebi and comply fully with whatever instructions the state issues when the time comes.

Fayose also explained that he has chosen his grandmother’s home, specifically the garden there, as his final resting place. He added, “My grandmother’s home, the mother of my father, I’ve made the garden there. I should be laid to rest there.”

“After my departure, nobody must come there again. Allow me to go. If you want to show me love, if you want to take care of me, do so now.”
