Tinubu Orders Urgent Rescue Of Abducted Kebbi Schoolgirls

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed security agencies to immediately launch a coordinated operation to free the female students kidnapped from Government Girls Secondary School, Maga, in Kebbi State.

Gatekeepers News reports that armed men invaded the school on Monday morning, seizing 25 students in the attack. Kebbi police spokesperson Nafi’u Kotarkoshi confirmed that Vice Principal Hassan Makuku was killed, while a security guard, Ali Shehu, sustained a gunshot wound to his right hand.

In a statement issued by Information Minister Mohammed Idris, Tinubu condemned the assault and restated the federal government’s duty to safeguard every citizen, especially schoolchildren.

Idris noted that the president has given security and intelligence agencies clear instructions to locate and recover the girls unharmed and ensure the attackers are brought to justice. He added that the government will not relent until the students are safely reunited with their families.

The federal government is also expanding internal security measures by strengthening military readiness, policing strategies, and intelligence systems to better prevent such incidents and respond rapidly when threats arise.

According to the statement, Nigeria is reinforcing security cooperation with ECOWAS, the African Union, and the Multinational Joint Task Force to tighten border control and disrupt terrorist networks.

Citizens were also encouraged to remain calm as security operatives work around the clock to resolve the situation.
