Four rice farmers were on Thursday, reportedly kidnapped by bandits in Bokungi village, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Gatekeepers News reports that on Tuesday, members of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Oke Isegun, Eruku, a border community near Kogi in Ekiti LGA, were also targeted during a church service, with gunshots captured in a live-streamed video. Many worshipers died and others were abducted.

The following evening, between 6:30 pm and 7:00 pm, bandits struck Bokungi village while farmers were working on their fields.

Two victims were first taken while packaging harvested rice, and shortly after, two more were abducted from a nearby farm, bringing the total to four, according to ChannelsTV.

Witnesses described the raid as coordinated, with assailants firing sporadically before forcing the farmers into the bush. Families of the victims have yet to receive any contact or ransom demands.

The concurrent attacks in the state have left residents living in fear, forcing many to abandon their homes, shutter markets, and restrict movement.
