Nigerian Air Force has announced the destruction of a key terrorist hideout inside the Sambisa forest following a targeted air interdiction mission.
Gatekeepers News reports that according to a statement issued on Thursday by NAF spokesperson Ehimen Ejodame, the operation was carried out on November 19 at ARRA, a location identified as notorious terrorist hideout within the wider Sambisa area.
Ejodame explained that the attack was executed on the orders of the chief of air staff as part of ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the north-east.
The statement reads, “The Air Component of Joint Task Force Operation HADIN KAI initiated the attack following series of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions that tracked terrorist movements following the October 17 ambush on ground troops at KASHOMRI.”
“Persistent ISR coverage over KASHOMRI and Sambisa revealed suspicious activities and active terrorist structures at ARRA, prompting a deliberate, intelligence-driven strike.”
The strike was carried out using coordinated and repeated engagements by NAF air platforms.
The air force reported that all designated targets were completely destroyed, noting that the operation disrupted the terrorists’ command structures, logistics support, and overall operational capability.
The statement said the outcome reflects NAF’s determination to protect the country and reinforce ground operations.
NAF reiterated that it remains resolute in its mission to neutralize threats, defend Nigeria’s territorial integrity, and secure enduring peace for all citizens.
