Tinubu Appoints Uzodimma DG For Party Outreach And Mobilisation

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, as the Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement and Mobilisation ahead of the national launch of the Federal Government’s Ward Development Programme.

Gatekeepers Newreports that under the new role, Uzodimma will also serve as the administration’s Renewed Hope Ambassador, tasked with deepening grassroots awareness of government policies and driving nationwide mobilisation for the Renewed Hope agenda.

According to the Presidency, the appointment takes immediate effect.

As Director-General, Uzodimma will work closely with the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership and state governors to project the achievements and programmes of the Tinubu administration across political structures. Uzodimma, who chairs the Progressive Governors Forum, will also coordinate strategies to promote unity, inclusiveness and effective communication within the ruling party.

APC governors will support him in the effort, serving as Ambassadors of Hope to reinforce mobilisation at the state level.

President Tinubu expressed confidence in Uzodimma’s capacity to deliver on the mandate, noting that the administration has “recorded significant milestones” since assuming office in May 2023.

Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, highlighted some of these achievements in a statement on Tuesday. According to government data, inflation has declined for the seventh consecutive month to 16.05 per cent as of October, while the exchange rate has stabilised. Nigeria’s foreign reserves have also reportedly increased to over $46 billion, up from the $32 billion and net reserve of $4 billion inherited in 2023.

Onanuga added that foreign direct and portfolio investments were rising, especially in the oil and gas sector, while the stock market had seen “unprecedented gains.”

He further noted that diversification efforts have positioned solid minerals as a key driver of economic growth. The liberalised student loan programme has enrolled more than 700,000 beneficiaries, and passport processing timelines have been reduced to under one week.

President Tinubu urged Uzodimma to ensure that Nigerians fully understand both the achievements and the broader vision of the Renewed Hope agenda.
