“Well Trained And Fully Equipped” — Tinubu Reaffirms Support For Security Agencies

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said Federal Government remains committed to providing the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies with modern equipment, improved training and steady logistical backing to strengthen the nationwide fight against insecurity.

Gatekeepers News reports that his message was delivered in Kano by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, during the Passing-Out Parade of Regular Course 7/2019 at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil.

Speaking before government officials, security chiefs, traditional leaders and families of the graduating officers, the President described the occasion as a major step in Nigeria’s ongoing efforts to reinforce its security framework.

He praised the academy’s continued growth, highlighting better facilities, upgraded academic and training standards, and its full transition into a degree-awarding institution. Tinubu also acknowledged the patriotic contributions of Nigerians who have supported its development.

Tinubu restated his administration’s goal of building a modern and people-focused Police Force grounded in integrity, accountability, professionalism and respect for human rights.

The president said, “Our vision remains clear, to raise a Police Force that is well educated, well trained, and fully equipped to manage internal security with dignity and fairness.”

He commended the academy’s leadership for embracing ongoing reforms and helping to shape a policing system capable of earning public trust through intelligence-led and community-oriented approaches.

Akume urged the new cadets to embody honour, fairness, and dedication in their service. He said, “You are not just law enforcers; you are guardians of our collective security and well-being. The nation expects you to serve with honour, fairness, and selfless dedication.”

Tinubu reminded the officers to uphold the rule of law, treat Nigerians with dignity and maintain exemplary conduct in and out of uniform. He assured them that their welfare and professional growth remain central to the Federal Government’s priorities.

The President noted that tackling insecurity requires more than equipment, adding that the administration is pursuing broader strategies focused on economic growth, social cohesion, and inclusive development.

He also appreciated the families of the graduates for their support and encouraged Nigerians to remain united in the pursuit of a safer, stronger country.

Tinubu said, “Let us look to the future with hope and determination. Together, we can build a Nigeria that is secure, just, and prosperous for all.”
