Operatives of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have dismantled a social media network that sold illegal drugs disguised as imported Christmas cookies and snacks in Lekki area of Lagos.
Gatekeepers News reports that the agency announced this in a statement on Sunday through its spokesman, Femi Babafemi, who confirmed that two people behind the operation were arrested in Lagos.
NDLEA noted that two masterminds have been arrested following a raid on their hideout in Lekki.
NDLEA said the group, led by Deji Adesanya and Olubiyi Majekodunmi, brought in Canadian Loud, a strong type of cannabis, along with colourful designer sachets printed with cookie and snack labels, which they used to repackage the drug in small quantities.
The agency explained that credible intelligence exposed the syndicate, which operated mainly through a WhatsApp platform.
On Saturday, November 22, 2025, operatives raided their apartment on Ojulari Street in the Ikate area of Lekki and recovered a large amount of designer packaging and 5 kilograms of Loud.
In another Lagos operation, NDLEA officers arrested 38-year-old drug kingpin Philip Ucheka in the Ladipo area of Mushin while he was receiving 110 pouches of Canadian Loud weighing 55.6kg. Three delivery vehicles used for distribution were seized from him.
Babafemi said officers also intercepted 100 grams of Loud hidden inside a teddy bear imported from Thailand at a courier company in Lagos.
At a separate logistics firm, 548 tramadol capsules, concealed in Vitamin C and Magnesium bottles and intended for the United Kingdom, were recovered.
In Oyo State, the NDLEA arrested 55-year-old Wasiu Kareem with 8,000 ampoules of pentazocine, 590 codeine syrup bottles, 1,500 Co-codamol pills, and 9,900 tramadol capsules.
