President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged Nigeria’s top security commanders to intensify ongoing operations and produce clear results in curbing nationwide insecurity.

Gatekeepers News reports that Tinubu issued the directive during a closed-door meeting at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday, held shortly after unveiling the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day emblem.

The session was attended by Chief of Defence Staff Olufemi Oluyede, Army Chief Wahidi Shaibu, Air Chief Sunday Aneke, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun, DSS Director-General Adeola Ajayi, and NIA Director-General Mohammed Mohammed. The discussion lasted for over an hour.

After the meeting, Oluyede described the briefing as very engaging and said the President outlined new instructions designed to deliver quicker, more effective responses to terrorism, banditry, and other threats.

He added that security agencies are working more closely than before and assured citizens of a safe and peaceful festive season.
