Edo State Government has announced the appointment of Dr. Ebojele Akhere Patrick as the new Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
Gatekeepers News reports that the appointment, approved by the governor, was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor.
Dr. Ebojele, a journalist, public administrator, researcher, and lecturer, brings decades of professional experience spanning media practice, public affairs, and academia. His journalism career includes serving as the Edo/Delta Correspondent for Channels Television, and holding correspondent roles at the New Nigerian Newspaper, Champion Newspaper, and Comet Newspapers.
According to the statement, the appointment underscores the administration’s resolve to “strengthen and deepen communication channels between the Government and the good people of Edo State, ensuring clarity, transparency, and effective dissemination of Government policies, programmes, and activities.”
Dr. Ebojele takes over from Mr. Fred Itua, who is expected to receive a new assignment after the handover. The government also expressed appreciation to Mr. Itua for his service and contributions.
