Liverpool ended their match at Elland Road with a 3-3 draw after Ao Tanaka scored in added time to help Leeds United secure a point on Saturday.
Gatekeepers News reports that Leeds, who have been showing better form recently, played with confidence against a Liverpool team that started without Mohamed Salah and Alexander Isak.
Hugo Ekitike led the attack and scored twice, while Dominik Szoboszlai later restored Liverpool’s lead, but Leeds came back each time.
Ekitike scored the first goal early in the second half after picking up a loose pass and finishing calmly. He added another goal almost immediately by converting a cross.
Leeds responded with two quick goals of their own. Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored from the penalty spot after a foul by Ibrahima Konate, and Anton Stach equalised soon after with a composed finish that sent Alisson Becker the wrong way.
Szoboszlai thought he had won the match for Liverpool when he controlled Ryan Gravenberch’s pass and placed the ball into the bottom corner. But six minutes into added time, Tanaka volleyed in a corner at the far post to level the score.
Arsenal also had a tough evening as they lost 2-1 to Aston Villa after conceding in the ninety-fifth minute. The defeat ended their unbeaten league run since August. Manchester City made the most of it by defeating Sunderland 3-0 to close the gap at the top to two points.
Chelsea continued their poor form after failing to score in a goalless draw against Bournemouth.
