Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has announced a state of emergency across the region.
Gatekeepers News reports that Omar Touray, President of ECOWAS, made the declaration on Tuesday at the 55th session of the Mediation and Security Council at the ministerial level in Abuja.
The meeting was called in response to the recent wave of coups and attempted military takeovers in several West African countries.
