Yusuf Dantalle has been confirmed for another term as national chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC).
Gatekeepers News reports that the election took place on Monday in Abuja, giving him a fresh two-year mandate.
Dantalle, who leads Allied Peoples Movement (APM), secured the position without opposition after Kenneth Udeze of the Action Alliance stepped down from the race.
IPAC, which brings together all registered political parties in Nigeria, also filled other executive positions. Zainab Ibrahim was elected deputy national chairman, while Maxwell Mgbudem emerged as national secretary. Maryam Garba Bagel was chosen as deputy national secretary.
The new team also includes Dipo Olayoku as national treasurer, Chinyere Kalu as national organising secretary, Umar Mohammed as national financial secretary, Martins Egbeola as national publicity secretary, and Obed Agu as national legal adviser.
After the results were announced, Dantalle described the outcome as a victory for sustainable democracy and development in IPAC and the nation.
Dantalle added that it was “our collective victory and a triumph of hope for a better, greater and brighter Inter Party Advisory Council”.
He noted that he fulfilled his promise to create directorates for women, youth, and persons with disabilities, and said IPAC would continue to grow as they collaborate with stakeholders and citizens to build a strong, virile, united, equitable and inclusive democratic nation.
