BUA Group Gives N30bn Rewards To 510 Staff For Service And Excellence

BUA Group has announced that it paid a total of N30 billion to 510 employees in recognition of long service and outstanding performance.

Gatekeepers News reports that the company disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, explaining that the payments were made during its 2025 Night of Excellence and long service awards.

The event honoured staff members who have served the group for periods ranging from five years to over forty years. It reflected a belief that has guided the Group since inception: enduring businesses are built by people.

According to BUA Group, only 41 awardees received their prizes directly from the chairman during the ceremony due to limited time. It said, “These represented the highest award categories, ranging from ₦100 million to ₦1 billion.”

BUA Group explained that the on-stage recipients included sixteen staff who received ₦100 million each, nine who received ₦200 million each, seven who received ₦250 million each, three who got ₦500 million each, and five who were rewarded with ₦1 billion each. One special award recipient also received an undisclosed cash prize.

The company said the special recognition was given to Kabiru Rabiu for his loyalty, leadership, and long-term contribution to the growth and stability of the group.

BUA Group added that other awardees had already collected their cheques and plaques or would receive them at their various plants and operational locations nationwide.

Speaking at the event, Abdul Samad Rabiu, founder and executive chairman of BUA Group, said the ceremony was meant to celebrate loyalty, resilience, and a shared sense of ownership within the company.

He recalled that the group started 36 years ago on a modest scale and has grown into one of Nigeria’s most valuable listed companies, with a market value now in the trillions of naira. He stressed that the success was not achieved by one individual or capital alone.

Rabiu said the growth of the company reflects the efforts of employees who trusted the vision from the beginning. He added that BUA has always regarded its workforce as partners and believes commitment and professionalism should be rewarded in clear and meaningful ways.

He described the cash rewards as a sign of appreciation, noting that money cannot fully repay decades of dedication and sacrifice.

Rabiu also said the group would continue to invest in capacity expansion, new technologies, and growth across cement, food, sugar, and infrastructure, adding that those who helped build BUA would continue to benefit as the company grows.
