Ousmane Dembele has been named 2025 FIFA Men’s Player of the Year, earning global recognition for an outstanding season with Paris Saint-Germain.
Gatekeepers News reports that the French winger received the prestigious honour at the FIFA awards ceremony held in Doha on Tuesday night, finishing ahead of a shortlist that included Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappe, and other leading stars of the game.
Dembele’s triumph completes an exceptional individual year, having already claimed the Ballon d’Or earlier in the season.
His performances were central to PSG’s historic 2024/25 campaign, which saw the club secure a remarkable quadruple and lift the UEFA Champions League trophy for the first time in its history.
The 28-year-old recorded 35 goals and 16 assists across all competitions, playing a decisive role as PSG won Ligue 1 title, the French Cup, and French Super Cup alongside their European success.
PSG also dominated the coaching and goalkeeping categories, with Luis Enrique named FIFA Men’s Coach of the Year following his transformational impact on the team.
Goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was honoured as FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year after a series of crucial performances throughout the season.
In the women’s category, Barcelona and Spain star Aitana Bonmati was crowned FIFA Women’s Player of the Year, while Sarina Wiegman claimed the Women’s Coach of the Year award. England goalkeeper Hannah Hampton was recognised as the best women’s goalkeeper.
Other awards on the night saw Montiel take home FIFA Puskas Award, Marta receive FIFA Marta Award, Zakho SC fans win the FIFA Fan Award, and Andreas Harlass-Neuking honoured with FIFA Fair Play Award.
Several standout players were also named in the FIFA FIFPRO World 11 teams, with Dembele, Donnarumma, Jude Bellingham, and Lamine Yamal included in the men’s selection, while Bonmati, Alexia Putellas, and Lucy Bronze featured in the women’s lineup.
