JUST IN: Nigeria Retains 38th In FIFA Ranking

Nigeria retained its 38th position in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings released in December 2025.

Gatekeepers News reports that Super Eagles recorded no competitive fixtures during the review period, which left the team with the same points total of 1,502 carried over from the November rankings.

Nigeria is ranked fifth on the African continent, behind Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, and Algeria. Morocco continues to lead Africa and is placed 11th globally, while Senegal occupies the 19th position in the world.

Algeria and Egypt are ranked 34th and 35th respectively, with Nigeria next at 38th. Other African teams in the top ten include Tunisia at 41st, Côte d’Ivoire at 42nd, Mali at 53rd, DR Congo at 56th, and Cameroon at 57th globally.

On the global stage, Spain remains at the top of the rankings after reclaiming the number one position earlier in 2025. Argentina follows in second place, while France completes the top three.

England, Brazil, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Croatia make up the rest of the global top ten, with no changes from the previous update.

Further changes in the rankings are expected after upcoming international matches, including World Cup qualifiers and other competitive fixtures scheduled for early 2026.
