Tinubu Congratulates Ganduje At 76

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended heartfelt birthday wishes to former National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, as he celebrates his 76th birthday on December 25.

Gatekeepers News reports that Tinubu called Dr. Ganduje a seasoned politician and capable administrator who has served Nigeria in many roles over the past five decades.

Before rising in politics, Ganduje worked in the civil service, including senior administrative posts in the Federal Capital Territory and later as Commissioner for Works in Kano State under military rule.

He also highlighted Ganduje’s long political journey, including serving twice as Deputy Governor of Kano State, being elected twice as Governor, and later becoming National Chairman of APC from 2023 until his resignation in June 2025. Ganduje now chairs the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

Ganduje’s tenure as Governor saw major infrastructure projects, improvements in education and health services in Kano State, and his role in national politics helped strengthen APC’s position.

In a statement by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu said, “I will forever appreciate Ganduje’s friendship and close collaboration at different times and his services to the APC.”

“As he marks another year, I pray Almighty Allah to enrich him with good health to prolong his services to Nigeria and humanity.”
