Nigeria defeated Uganda 3-1 in their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group C match on Tuesday at Stade Foot des Fes in Morocco.
Gatekeepers News reports that Raphael Onyedika scored twice, while Paul Onuachu added another goal to secure the win for the Super Eagles.
Uganda played much of the match with 10 men after their goalkeeper, Denis Onyango, was sent off for handling the ball outside his box following an injury to the starter.
Despite making eight changes to the team from their previous game, Nigeria dominated the match. Only Victor Osimhen, Calvin Bassey, and Bruno Onyemaechi kept their spots, while Ryan Alebiosu made his Super Eagles debut at right back.
Onyedika and Fisayo Dele-Basiru played in midfield, with Samuel Chukwueze and Moses Simon supporting the attacking duo of Osimhen and Onuachu.
Onuachu opened the scoring after connecting with a pass from Osimhen, and Onyedika added two more goals with assists from Chukwueze after Uganda was reduced to 10 men.
With the win, Nigeria finishes top of Group C with nine points from three games. Tunisia secured second place, while Tanzania also qualified for the next round as one of the four best third-placed teams.
Nigeria will face the third-placed team from Group F in the round of 16 on January 5.
