Victor Osimhen Ranks Fifth In World Goalscoring List For 2025

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen ended 2025 as the fifth-highest goalscorer in world football, scoring 46 goals in 52 appearances for both club and country.

Gatekeeper News  reports that the 27-year-old played a crucial role for Galatasaray in Turkey, helping the club secure a league and cup double, while also delivering for the Nigerian national team.

According to ESPN, Osimhen ranked behind Kylian Mbappé, who scored 66 goals, Harry Kane with 60, Erling Haaland with 57, and Kevin Hernandez of Puerto Rico SSC with 48 goals.

He matched Lionel Messi’s tally of 46 goals but achieved it in fewer games, underlining his efficiency and consistency as a striker.

For Nigeria, Osimhen scored nine goals in nine international matches, with his most recent strike coming against Tunisia in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.

His performances in the Turkish Super Lig also stood out, where he finished as the league’s top scorer, contributing significantly to Galatasaray’s domestic double.

Other notable players in the global goalscoring charts included Vangelis Pavlidis of Benfica with 45 goals, Guilherme Bissoli of Buriram United with 44 goals, Cristiano Ronaldo of Al Nassr with 41 goals, and Jorge Rivera of Metropolitan FA with 40 goals.
