NNPP Dissolves Kano Executive Committees

New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has dissolved all its executive committees in Kano State, the party announced on Wednesday.

Gatekeepers News reports that the decision is part of a restructuring plan to strengthen the party ahead of upcoming political activities.

The move follows the recent sacking of Hashimu Dungurawa as state party chairman by ward executives in Kano on December 30, just two weeks after his re-election.

Dungurawa was accused of causing divisions within the party and fueling internal crises by 27 executives of the Gargari ward in Dawakin Tofa LGA.

Abdullahi Abiya was subsequently appointed acting state chairman after the state executive committee reviewed a formal resolution from the Dawakin Tofa executives.

In a statement, Ladipo Johnson, NNPP national publicity secretary, said the dissolution of all executive committees from the state down to the ward levels was in line with the party’s constitution.

Johnson added that caretaker committees would be announced soon to manage the party’s affairs temporarily.

The statement read, “The National Working Committee of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has in accordance with the constitution of the party announced the total dissolution of its Executive Committees from State down to the Wards, in the entire Kano State.”

“Caretaker Committees to act in the interim will be announced presently.”

NNPP expressed appreciation to all members who have served in the party’s structures across Kano and said the restructuring is aimed at enhancing cohesion and preparing the party for future political engagements.
