Anthony Joshua Visits Families Of Late Friends After Fatal Car Crash

Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has paid condolence visits to the families of two close associates who died in a car accident during his recent trip to Nigeria.

Gatekeepers News reports that the accident happened on December 29 along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and claimed the lives of Kevin Latif Ayodele, Joshua’s personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, his strength and conditioning coach.

Joshua, who was also in the vehicle, sustained minor injuries and was treated before being discharged from hospital on New Year’s Eve. He later returned to the United Kingdom.

Days after the incident, the boxer broke his silence by sharing photos from his visit to the bereaved families. In the images posted on his social media pages, Joshua was seen standing quietly with relatives of the deceased. He captioned the post, “My Brother’s Keeper.”

Both Ayodele and Ghami were described by those close to Joshua as trusted friends and key members of his professional team. Their burial prayers were scheduled to take place at a mosque in London.

Meanwhile, Ogun State Police Command has confirmed that Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, the driver involved in the crash, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and driving without a valid licence.

The case was filed on Friday and adjourned by a magistrate court to January 20. The driver was granted bail of N5 million but remains in custody pending the fulfilment of bail conditions.
