Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG) has appointed Leye Falade as its new chief executive officer.

Gatekeepers News reports that the appointment will take effect from April 26, when he officially replaces Philip Mshelbila.

Falade currently heads Brunei LNG Sendirian Berhad as managing director, a role he assumed in April 2024.

Before then, he served briefly as Shell’s country chair in Namibia and earlier held senior responsibilities at Nigeria LNG Limited, including general manager for production.

He also previously worked as operations manager at NLNG, giving him direct experience within the company.

His career includes international roles with Shell in Europe and other regions, where he handled operational delivery, asset management, and performance improvement.

NLNG said the incoming CEO has worked across upstream and midstream operations in several countries across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.

The company added that Falade brings strong expertise in gas and petroleum operations, engineering, product optimisation, and organisational change. He holds an engineering degree and an MBA from Henley Business School in the United Kingdom.

NLNG said the appointment aligns with its plan to strengthen leadership as the company focuses on operational efficiency, expansion, and long-term growth in the global LNG market.
