No Casualty As Classroom Block Collapses In Lagos School

A bungalow classroom block at Odokekere High School in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State collapsed on Thursday.

Gatekeepers News reports that no deaths or serious injuries were reported as pupils were safely evacuated before the structure fell.

The Special Committee on Rehabilitation of Public Schools (SCRPS) said the affected building had been marked for demolition to make way for a new and larger facility to better serve the increasing number of students.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has ordered that the pupils be temporarily relocated to nearby schools so learning continues without interruption.

SCRPS officials have been dispatched to the site to assess the damage and begin planning for the construction of a modern classroom block.
