Arsenal And Liverpool Drop Points As United Win Derby

Arsenal were forced to settle for a goalless draw against Nottingham Forest on Saturday as their title charge briefly slowed in the English Premier League.

Gatekeepers News reports that the match at the City Ground saw the Gunners dominate possession and create several openings, but they could not find a way past Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels, who delivered an impressive performance.

Arsenal came close through Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, and Gabriel Martinelli, while late efforts also failed to trouble the hosts as Forest defended deep to secure a point.

Despite the draw, Arsenal remained at the top of the table after extending their unbeaten run, although the missed chances left Mikel Arteta’s side frustrated at full-time.

Manchester City dropped further points in the title race after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford. United took control of the derby with goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Patrick Dorgu, ending City’s hopes of a positive result as the visitors struggled to recover from recent poor form.

Liverpool also failed to secure maximum points after being held to a 1-1 draw by Burnley. The result was widely seen as a setback for the Reds against a side battling in the lower half of the table.

Elsewhere, Chelsea recorded a comfortable win over Brentford, while West Ham edged Tottenham away from home. Leeds United claimed a narrow victory against Fulham, Sunderland defeated Crystal Palace, and United’s derby win capped a weekend that saw several top sides drop valuable points.
