EPL: Man United Stun Arsenal With Late 3‑2 Win

Manchester United delivered a huge setback to Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes with a dramatic 3‑2 victory at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Gatekeepers News reports that the late winner from Matheus Cunha came in the 87th minute and changed the course of the season.

Arsenal started strongly and took the lead when their cross deflected off Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez into the net in the first half.   But a costly mistake from Arsenal midfielder Martin Zubimendi allowed Bryan Mbeumo to equalise just before the break.

Early in the second half, Patrick Dorgu struck a powerful shot that hit the underside of the bar to put United ahead.   Arsenal kept fighting and seemed to have rescued a point when Mikel Merino bundled home from a corner in the 84th minute.   But three minutes later, Cunha curled a superb long‑range shot into the bottom corner to seal the win.

The defeat ends Arsenal’s unbeaten run at home in the league this season and cuts their lead at the top to just four points over Manchester City and Aston Villa, both of whom won their matches this weekend.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said his team must show stronger mental strength after losing their momentum, while some fans expressed frustration at defensive errors that contributed to the defeat.

For United, the win is their first at Arsenal’s home ground since 2017 and lifts them into fourth place in the league, continuing a strong start under interim manager Michael Carrick, who had also beaten Manchester City in his previous game.
