With God On Our Side – Rivers Will Overcome Challenges— Fubara

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has expressed confidence that the state can surmount its governance challenges, affirming that faith in God will continue to sustain its leadership, institutions, and communities.

Gatekeepers News reports that speaking through his deputy, Ngozi Odu, on Sunday at the 2026 Holy Ghost Rally organized by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) at Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, Fubara highlighted the rally’s theme, “The All-Sufficient God,” as a source of reassurance for the state.

He said, “With the Almighty God on our side, our challenges are surmountable, and our future remains hopeful.” The Governor noted that the theme reminds citizens that divine wisdom, strength, provision, and grace surpass human limitations.

Fubara commended RCCG for its persistent prayers for Rivers State and Nigeria, and for promoting moral values, unity, and faith among the populace.

Delivering the sermon, Enoch Adeboye, general overseer of RCCG, cited Genesis 17:1, describing God as all-sufficient and able to meet every human need. He stressed that while human effort, including medical intervention, has limits, God can intervene to restore and repair even the most difficult situations.

Adesoji Oni, pastor in charge of the Rivers RCCG family, said the Port Harcourt Holy Ghost Rally, initiated in 2015, has grown into a major annual event, drawing thousands and positively impacting lives spiritually and physically.

Oni noted that the church’s outreach includes skills acquisition centres, maternity facilities, a rehabilitation centre for people battling substance abuse, and an innovative mind hub across the state.

Rivers State has recently faced political tension following a long-standing feud between Fubara and Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

Recall that on January 8, the Rivers House of Assembly began impeachment proceedings against Fubara and his deputy, prompted by allegations of gross misconduct presented by Major Jack, leader of the assembly, and supported by 26 lawmakers.
