Abba Atiku, son of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, has declared that no political party can stop President Bola Tinubu from winning a second term in the 2027 presidential election.
Gatekeepers News reports that Abba, who recently joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), made the statement on Monday in Yola, Adamawa State, after collecting his membership registration card at Gwadabawa Ward in Yola North Local Government Area.
He said his decision to join the APC was inspired by what he described as the far-reaching economic and human development reforms of the Tinubu administration.
“I want to make it very clear that nobody or any political party can stop President Bola Tinubu from returning to Aso Rock come 2027,” Abba said, according to The Punch.
He added that Tinubu’s leadership has won the confidence of Nigerians.
“Nigerians have seen his good work; he is not a tribalist, and he doesn’t make appointments based on religion or region, but his decisions are purely on merit,” he said.
Abba also cited infrastructural growth and human capital development as reasons for his support.
“The president needs your support to continue with the good work. We should mobilise more people and beyond party affiliations to support our president,” he added.
Family Political Divide
While Abba has aligned with the APC, his elder brother, Adamu Atiku, remains in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and currently serves as Commissioner for Works and Energy Development under Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State.
Meanwhile, their father, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, is reportedly seeking the presidency on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), with none of his sons currently in the party.
