Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has upheld the suspension of Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, senator representing Kogi Central, ruling that the Senate acted within the limits of its constitutional right.
Gatekeepers News reports that in a unanimous decision delivered on Monday, a three-member panel of justices dismissed claims that the disciplinary action violated the senator’s parliamentary privileges or fundamental rights.
The court held that the Senate followed due process and operated within the powers granted to it by the constitution in handling the matter.
