The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reacted to a viral social media post in which a user listed the agency’s Abuja headquarters as a hotel up for sale.
Gatekeepers News reports that in the post shared on X, a user identified as @osere_x uploaded a photo of the EFCC headquarters and advertised it as a “hotel” in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, offering it for ₦800 million, with an additional ₦120 million tagged as agent fees.
The post quickly went viral, recording 863 reposts, 508 replies, more than 6,000 likes, and over 433,000 views as of 9:00am on Tuesday, February 10.
EFCC Reacts
The anti-graft agency joined the conversation through its verified X handle, replying humorously to the post.
“Hmmm… You get mind ooo,” EFCC wrote — a Pidgin expression that loosely translates to “You do have guts.”
The reply itself attracted thousands of reactions and further amplified the online exchange.
Poster’s Comeback
Not long after, the original poster fired back with another Pidgin response:
“Na una building? I even think say na KFC,” he wrote, referencing the popular fast-food chain, Kentucky Fried Chicken.
The exchange has since sparked widespread amusement and debate across social media.
