Joshua Pays Fresh Tribute To Late Friends With New Tattoo

Former heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua has honoured the memory of his late friends by getting a new tattoo of their names.

Gatekeepers Newreports that Joshua’s close friends, Kevin Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami, died in a fatal car crash he survived in Nigeria. The accident occurred on December 29 along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, when a Lexus SUV carrying the boxer rammed into a stationary truck.

While Joshua survived the crash with minor injuries, the incident claimed the lives of his two associates.

Since their passing, the 35-year-old boxer has paid several emotional tributes to them. His latest gesture is a permanent one — the names of his late friends have now been etched on his right biceps, beneath a map of Africa tattooed on his upper arm.

Fulham Tattoos, the studio that did the work, shared the update on its Instagram page on Thursday, saying the boxer got the new ink “a few weeks ago.”

A few weeks earlier, Joshua had spoken openly about how the tragedy changed him, saying he no longer feared death because he already had two “brothers” on the other side.

In a lengthy video shared at the time, the boxer struggled to hold back tears as he vowed to do right by the families of his late friends.
