Nigeria’s Falconets produced another dominant display on Saturday, defeating Senegal 2-1 in Dakar to advance into the final qualifying round of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Gatekeepers News reports that the result completed a 3-1 aggregate victory after their narrow 1-0 win in the first leg played in Abeokuta last weekend.

Playing at the Stade Lat Dior, the Nigerian side started confidently and took control early. Their pressure paid off in the 18th minute when Chinaza Kindness Ifeanyi rose above her markers to head home a well-delivered cross, extending Nigeria’s aggregate advantage and silencing the home crowd.

The Falconets maintained their dominance in the second half and continued to create scoring opportunities. Their persistence was rewarded in the 68th minute when Precious Oscar connected with a corner kick, guiding a powerful downward header past the Senegalese goalkeeper to make it 2-0 on the night and 3-0 on aggregate.

Senegal managed to respond late in the game, as Pene Ngaye pulled one back with 14 minutes remaining. Despite the hosts’ late effort, Nigeria held on comfortably to seal their progression.

The victory further highlights the Falconets’ impressive form in the qualifiers, built on disciplined defending, strong midfield control, and clinical finishing. Under the guidance of coach Moses Aduku, the team has continued to show consistency and tactical maturity across both legs of the tie.

With this result, Nigeria will now face Malawi in the final qualifying round, where four African nations will earn tickets to represent the continent at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup scheduled to take place in Poland.
