Edo State Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo, Executive Governor of Edo State, has approved the appointment of Hon. Andrew Momodu as Commissioner-designate.
Gatekeepers News reports that Edo state government announced Momodu’s appointment in a statement released on Saturday by Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., Secretary to the State Government.
Hon. Andrew Momodu is a seasoned political administrator and public affairs practitioner with extensive experience in governance, security coordination, and democratic engagement. He has held key strategic roles within government and political structures over the years. Most notably:
He served as Special Adviser to the Governor of Edo State on Security and Public Order, where he played an active role in coordinating critical security and public safety matters for the state.
Earlier in his career, Hon. Momodu was a political aide to His Excellency, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Governor of Edo State, where he built his foundation in party politics and political mobilization.
He has been actively engaged in civic discourse and political education aimed at promoting democratic participation, and in 2023 he contested for a seat in the House of Representatives to further deepen his commitment to public service and representation.
According to the statement, in line with constitutional requirements, the name of Hon. Andrew Momodu will be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for confirmation.
Governor Okpebholo reiterated his commitment to assembling a team of competent and visionary leaders to drive the administration’s agenda of sustainable growth, inclusive development, and improved service delivery across the State.
