President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to remain patient and optimistic, assuring them that his administration is steadily rebuilding the nation’s economy through far-reaching reforms aimed at delivering growth, stability, and shared prosperity.
Gatekeepers News reports that he gave the reassurance during a one-day working visit to Adamawa State, during which he commissioned key projects and met with state officials, traditional rulers, and community leaders.
Speaking through a statement released on Monday by Bayo Onanuga, special adviser to the president on information and strategy, Tinubu said the policies introduced by his government were already yielding visible improvements across sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure. He stressed that cooperation between the federal government and states was central to sustaining economic recovery and national development.
“Our direction is clear, our resolve is firm, and our mission is to rebuild confidence in the Nigerian economy while creating opportunities for all,” he said.
“We are laying strong foundations through agriculture, human capital development, and strategic investments that will secure our future and guarantee food security for our people.”
The president noted that economic repositioning, driven by what he described as responsible and people-focused policies, has boosted national revenue and improved allocations to states, enabling them to embark on projects that directly touch the lives of citizens. According to him, the enhanced financial flow has accelerated infrastructure delivery, strengthened public services, and expanded social intervention programmes.
Tinubu praised Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa for effectively deploying federal allocations toward road construction and educational development, saying his leadership reflected genuine commitment to grassroots progress and inclusive governance.
“You are showing what it means to govern with purpose and compassion, ensuring that development truly reaches the people,” he said.
“Your investments in education and infrastructure clearly demonstrate dedication to the long-term growth of Adamawa and Nigeria at large.”
He listed major projects executed by the state government, including an eight-lane highway, a modern underpass, and a newly completed high court complex, explaining that they would ease movement, stimulate commercial activities, enhance security, and strengthen justice delivery.
The president urged all state governments to channel more resources into poverty reduction, quality education, job creation, and food production, describing them as critical to sustainable national development. He also thanked traditional and religious leaders for fostering unity, peaceful coexistence, and social stability.
“Your efforts in maintaining harmony and encouraging togetherness are invaluable, especially at a time when economic adjustments and political changes require patience and collective understanding,” he said.
Tinubu further commended Nuhu Ribadu, national security adviser, for his leadership and coordination in strengthening national security and supporting peace-building initiatives across the country.
In his response, Governor Fintiri expressed gratitude to the president for visiting Adamawa to inaugurate completed projects, describing the visit as historic and deeply encouraging for the people of the state.
“We are greatly honoured by your presence and thankful for the opportunity to showcase the progress we are making,” he said.
Fintiri reaffirmed the state’s full support for the president’s reform agenda, pledging continued collaboration with the federal government to deepen development, improve living standards, and drive economic growth.
