Hollywood Actor Robert Carradine Is Dead

Hollywood actor Robert Carradine, popularly known for his roles in Revenge of the Nerdsand Disney Channel’s Lizzie McGuire, has died at the age of 71.

Gatekeepers News reports that in a statement, the deceased’s family said the veteran actor lost his long battle with bipolar disorder, describing his life as one marked by strength, kindness, and resilience.

The family revealed that Carradine’s passing followed years of intense struggle with the mental health condition, which he had battled for nearly two decades. They said they chose to speak openly about the cause of death to encourage public understanding and help reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness.

Tributes quickly poured in from fans, colleagues, and co-stars, including actress Hilary Duff, who played his on-screen daughter in Lizzie McGuire, praising his warmth, guidance, and fatherly presence on set.

Born into the famous Carradine acting family, Robert was the son of veteran actor John Carradine and brother to the late David Carradine and Keith Carradine. He made his film debut in The Cowboys in 1972 and later appeared in several notable productions, including Mean Streets, Coming Home, The Long Riders, and Escape from L.A. His portrayal of Lewis Skolnick in Revenge of the Nerds earned him cult status, while his role as Sam McGuire in Lizzie McGuire introduced him to a new generation of viewers.

His family said he would be remembered not only for his talent but also for his compassion, humor, and dedication to his loved ones, adding that they hope his story encourages open conversations about mental health and the importance of seeking help.
